Enterprise data storage leader Pure Storage held their annual customer conference, Accelerate, September 15th – 18th in Austin, Texas. The “Modern Data Experience” was the theme for the ten year old all-flash data storage leader. Several major announcements were made on product updates and releases.
- FlashArray//C is a new “class” (not tier) of Flash to reinforce their initial promise of “Flash for all workloads”. The FlashArray//C is a capacity-optimized 100% NVMe FlashArray that provides modern enterprise features, high-capacity, QLC optimized solution with hybrid-like (disk/flash) economics.
- Direct Memory Cache was announced for the top-of-the-line FlashArray//X models (//X70R2 and //X90R2).
- Cloud Block Store is now Generally Available (GA). Customers will now be able to extend Pure’s rich data services into cloud giant AWS to make hybrid cloud easier to consume but with the same enterprise Tier 1 experience they are used to on-prem.
- Pure-as-a-Service follows the “as a service” trend in all of IT. Customers will now have the flexibility and ease of consumption with the entire Pure product line.
Pure Storage continues to innovate and release products to the market. It will be interesting to see how this year plays out for them in the ever changing enterprise data storage landscape.
